Steps

As I walked the long steps tonight,

I realized I wasn't pushing myself up;

more like a free hamster and a wheel,

I was pushing the world in a circle,

One small step at a time.

Rocking Chair

My neighbours moved and left me a rocking-chair.
Did I move too?
My friends' shadows weave stories through my dreams.

I thought I wouldn't stay
I'd meant to leave
I thought I'd be the first

But I've been sitting in my old rocking-chair,
dreaming,
saying farewell.

"Of what shall I write?"

Could I spend my career
In a state all-a-fear,
Of which topic to choose
From all those far and near?

"Of what shall I write?" I'll write,
A broad topic with no end insight ...
Yet, on this subject I've nothing to lose -
So in indecision then I'll delight!

In search of Verisimilitude

Verses, Similes (Smiles?), and Attitude all in one

Music, like mathematics - is it created, or found - (will we ever be done?)

To pair together reality, if it exists, and our rendering of it,
a perpetual re-cycling, with influential process and output,
is something profound.

(To rhyme, truthfully, perhaps it-must-be-in-the-nude.)

Regarding: Relativity - Rubato - Rhythm - Rightness...

Since: the right note is, by definition, at the right time;

Isn't:

The right note

at the wrong time,

just a wrong note,

... ?

(But:

A wrong note

at the right time -

might be

beautiful!)

Yoga for Violinists

Continue I to practise long enough,
My OM will be (- in Carnegie?!?) ... er ... up to snuff:

You see, I'll be a yogi!
A flexible old fogey -

Tough licks, limericks I'll play, ne'er gruff.
